Climate Action Training Programme for suppliers
At Canyon, we see collaboration within the cycling industry as a key lever for meaningful climate progress. When we first measured our corporate carbon footprint in 2021, it became evident that a significant share of emissions—especially Scope 3—originates in our global supply chain, including material sourcing and production.
In response, we initiated the Climate Action Training Programme, launched in late 2024. This free, online course is designed to support suppliers in understanding and reducing emissions. Developed together with bike industry partners from Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the USA—and supported by Shift Cycling Culture, GIZ, the Initiative for Global Solidarity, Leadership & Sustainability, and Fischer, Knoblauch & Co.—the programme encourages shared responsibility and industry-wide engagement.
The training is available in English, Mandarin, and Vietnamese, and covers:
- Different types of emissions (Scope 1, 2 & 3)
- Measuring and reporting greenhouse gases
- Setting targets, energy efficiency, and renewable energy
- Case studies and practical approaches
