At Canyon, we see collaboration within the cycling industry as a key lever for meaningful climate progress. When we first measured our corporate carbon footprint in 2021, it became evident that a significant share of emissions—especially Scope 3—originates in our global supply chain, including material sourcing and production.

In response, we initiated the Climate Action Training Programme, launched in late 2024. This free, online course is designed to support suppliers in understanding and reducing emissions. Developed together with bike industry partners from Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the USA—and supported by Shift Cycling Culture, GIZ, the Initiative for Global Solidarity, Leadership & Sustainability, and Fischer, Knoblauch & Co.—the programme encourages shared responsibility and industry-wide engagement.

The programme reflects a holistic and collaborative approach: it was co-developed over two years with input from various industry stakeholders and is offered free of charge to make participation as accessible as possible. By focusing on knowledge-sharing and practical tools, it aims to help companies set realistic climate goals and track their progress effectively. Since the launch of the training programme, 30 Canyon direct suppliers and business partners from China, Taiwan, and Vietnam have already taken part as of May 2025.
